The Nursery: Paint
So remember the nursery mood board I shared back in February? Yeah, we finally got to working on that and the nursery is almost finished. We even have several weeks to spare! However, I’m not going to jump the gun and share all of the dirty details with you just yet. But I do have some before and after photos of the paint job we recently completed in there.
Picking out a paint color was not as easy as I thought it would be. We knew that we wanted a beige-y neutral color, but were overwhelmed with the variety out there. I personally like cooler colors, so we grabbed a couple of paint samples from Restoration Hardware and painted some swatches on the wall to get a better feel for what might look good in the room. And those colors sat there on the wall staring at us day and night for a couple of weeks. We kind of went back and forth, but eventually, we chose their Cappuccino paint color from the Flax Collection (color matched to Olympic’s No-VOC paint at Lowe’s.)
Once everything was painted and dried, we taped the wall in the little alcove where the crib will go so that we could add in the white stripes we wanted. And once we removed our tape, we had perfect stripes for our accent wall. We love how it all turned out! I may be hard to get a true feeling for the paint color from the photos, because it looks different depending on the lighting, but you get the idea. Here are the before and afters.
Of course, it will look a lot better once we have all of the furniture and accessories in place. And hopefully it will end up be a great place for sleeping once little Sweet Pea gets here.
