Ruler of the Elves

One year ago at this time, we were hoping that our little 3 lb. 14 oz. bundle would be able to come home from the hospital in a reasonable amount of time. Here we are now, marveling at how big he has grown and how amazing he is. His smile is killer and his personality would warm anyone’s heart. Here he is, 12 months old and growing.

This past Sunday we held Sweet Pea’s 1st birthday party and I must say it was a success. That is not counting a few tiny mishaps. (Clogged sink, not enough icing, missing candles.) The theme was Mr. Man and we kept it pretty simple. Just a few guests, bites to eat, and decor items. But let’s allow the pics to tell the story.

Last Friday, Pinky participated in the American Heart Association’s Jump Rope for the Heart. Basically, it is an amazing fundraiser to help people with “broken hearts” in Pinky’s own words. Her entire school joined in to raised money for the cause and to support a fellow student at their school who had just had her 3rd open heart surgery right before Christmas.

I’m so proud of my girl! She made calls and sent emails to get donations and ended up raising the 2nd highest amount of money in her entire school!!! Go Pinky!

This past month’s wellness appointment has Sweet Pea weighing in at 20 lbs. 4 oz. (27th percentile) and measuring 30.5 inches (90th percentile). Looks like our little man is continuing his tall and skinny streak. Oh, and I swear that the calendar isn’t shrinking…
