We Are Floored

This past weekend I decided that I wanted something to do. Not because there was nothing else to do, but just because I thoroughly enjoy being knee deep in a million different things at once. So I started ripping out the old nasty linoleum tiles on the floor in our kitchen. Luckily, for me, I had nearly all of them out in about 7 minutes. All it took was a little elbow grease and a pry bar, which I continued to call the “tile lifter upper thingy” until Chris informed me otherwise.

I was so proud of myself for accomplishing so much removal in such a short period of time, that I neglected to notice a minuscule piece of tile still stuck to the floor. That stinkin’ little, tiny, insignificant piece of yellowy yuckness took over 30 minutes to get off of the floor.

I also had a little bit of assistance along the way, once I moved onto the dining room. You can call her Helpy Helperton.

Here is a prime example of the reason we wanted this flooring out of here. The discoloration (left) was ridiculous and the fact that the tile dated back to the 1980’s only forced us to desire something new.

And voila! After only 3 days, we have beautiful new flooring! It took a small amount of blood, sweat and tears, but we are all still alive, so I’d say it was well worth it.
