I Am Board
As promised, here are some photos to recap one of the projects from this past week. We are gearing up for a weekend out of town, so I will make this snappy!
#1 – Bulletin Board Makeover
Several months ago, my wonderful father passed along to us some of the items that I still had at home from my younger years. One was a bulletin board that I had in my bedroom since I was probably in jr. high school and was up through my early college years. Sadly, you can see from the before photo below my poor taste in bedroom décor, minus the family pictures. So with the bulletin board sitting in my garage for the past month or two, I decided to free up some space and give it a makeover to make it more cohesive with our home.
First, I started by pulling off the trim around the edges, with a little help from Chris. Next, I measured some burlap (which on got for $2/yard), cut it to fit and stapled it to the back of the bulletin board with my new heavy duty staple gun. Sheer excitement, really. Then, to finish it off, I added decorative nails, i.e nail head trim, to give it a little oomph. And that’s it. I finished it in less than a half an hour and now I have a nice area to hang photos, magazine inspiration pics, fabric swatches, design stuff, and of course, Pinky’s sweet handmade projects.
Speaking of Pinky, I was going through some photos today and found this cutie in the birthday/Halloween folder. She does look awfully cute in little Alice in Wonderland costume.
Have a great weekend!
